What to Include in Your Earthquake Kits

Earthquake kits are good investment of each family. It is highly recommended that every household will devote time preparing for an earthquake kit. You need to prepare for any disaster such as an earthquake.

If you live in an area prone to earthquakes you will probably want a kit specifically tailored to an earthquake.  You need to include the following in your kit:

A List of Things to Include in Your Emergency Kits

You must have read a number of lists on what to include in your emergency kits. Below are the other items that you must consider that you might have missed.

 

1)    You need cash. When there are disasters, most ATMs and banks are closed. You need to include loose bills and coins as well.

2)    List all important numbers, addresses and emails.

3)    Invest on a good first aid book. Knowing some first aid measures will help save lives.

4)    Include clothes that are good for three day consumption. Include sturdy shoes, long sleeved shirts, and long pants. Put additional pieces of clothes and jacket if you are in a cold climate.

5)    Include feminine supplies and other personal hygiene products.

6)    Pack plates, paper cups, plastic utensils and paper towers.

7)    You would need to include items that will answer the boredom of your little ones. Books, puzzles and games are good choices.

Preparing for Disasters with Emergency Kits

Emergency kits are essential during emergencies. However, since you do not know when an emergency would come, you always need to have one with you. You should also have an emergency kit at home and in the office.

An emergency kit must contain essential elements like disinfectants, cleaning materials, bandages, tools, medicines and others.

You need to have emergency kits for you and for your family. You should have kits at home, in your office and in your bag. This is to make sure that you are ready anytime and anywhere an emergency will come.

 

Your kit at home and in the office must have the usual first aid stuff like disinfectants, bandages, gauze and over the counter drugs like pain reliever. It should also contain a flashlight, extra batteries and callout devices like whistle or bell. You must also have food and water provisions that would last for about three days.

 

For the kit that you carry around, you also need the first aid stuff, flashlight and whistle. It may not be practical to carry water and food supply good for several days but a bottle of water and a bar of chocolate may help.

 

So again, do not waste your time worrying about disasters. Instead, use your time to prepare for them.
